South Litchfield Beach in South Carolina

Sunny sky and mid-60s attracted us to this beautiful shore town a short drive south of Myrtle Beach.

Beach Walkway 65 for Access to South Litchfield Beach

We have explored Pawley’s Island and Huntington Beach State Park several times before, but this was our first adventure to Litchfield Beach. Nestled between those two familiar spots, it’s a place we’ve driven past countless times without realizing the hidden gem that lay in between. We were thrilled to finally set foot on this beautiful stretch of sand.

Accessing the beach was a bit of a treasure hunt, with limited access points and parking only available on the side of the main street. But once we managed to set foot on the sands, it was worth every effort! The ultimate goal was two-fold, 1) a nice walk along the Atlantic and 2) looking for unique seashell souvenirs. What else does one do when it’s not quite warm enough for a dip in the surf?

Litchfield Beach welcomed us with its expansive, wide beach that seemed to stretch endlessly. The clean white sand beneath our feet was soft and inviting, creating a perfect backdrop for a day of relaxation. The nearly flat terrain made it easy to stroll along the shoreline, taking in the breathtaking views of the ocean.

The serenity of the place was enchanting, far removed from the hustle and bustle of more crowded beaches. We felt an immediate sense of peace as we listened to the gentle waves lapping against the shore. It was a delightful discovery, and we couldn’t help but wonder why we hadn’t visited sooner.

The beach itself was nearly flat, making it perfect for leisurely strolls while the waves gently lapped at our feet. It felt like a slice of paradise, undiscovered and untouched. We couldn’t help but feel excited about this newfound oasis.

Harry’s Breakfast Pancakes in Myrtle Beach

Our Number One place for Breakfast along the Grand Strand. Period.

As you drive through the bustling main stretch of Myrtle Beach on Business 17, King’s Highway, you’ll encounter a delightful array of breakfast spots. There are literally dozens and dozens of places to choose from, ranging from well-known national chains to charming local eateries. Over the years, we’ve sampled quite a few of them.

A few winters ago, we decided to embrace the “snowbird” lifestyle and spend a significant portion of the “chilly” months in Myrtle Beach. It was during this time that my wife stumbled upon a Facebook post raving about Harry’s Breakfast Pancakes Restaurant. Intrigued by the glowing review, we decided to give it a try.

Harry’s is a locally owned, family operated business that has been serving the greater MB area since 1979. Same family, too. Harry has passed on, but Mamma G and her two daughters keep the place going and thriving.

From our very first visit, Harry’s won us over with its warm atmosphere and delicious food. The pancakes were fluffy and perfect, and the service was always friendly and attentive. We’ve become loyal customers ever since.

What we especially like about the place is the “family atmosphere” that is shared by everyone who works there. Now, every time we’re in town, a weekly visit to Harry’s is a must. It’s become a beloved part of our Myrtle Beach routine, bringing joy and comfort to our mornings. The staff are truly amazing and remember us from year to year.

How I Enhance Descriptions with a bit of AI

Artificial Intelligence can be useful as an aid to marketing photographs in a gallery.

I have appreciated the AI generated keywords and descriptions that have been added to FineArtAmerica.com‘s upload process. It does a, surprisingly, decent job of identifying what is in the image. I use that AI-generated content as a starting place, but I almost always add a location (which the AI cannot determine) and a couple of other details, I do that because it is the description (content) that is indexed by the largest search engines, Google and Bing.

An example…
I recently uploaded an image of a Margarita that I had ordered at a restaurant. It was one of my “52 Week Challenge” (indoor) images. Here is the way I expanded the auto-generated content.

FAA’s AI content: A refreshing cocktail is elegantly presented in a curvy glass, garnished with a lime wedge and a black straw. Soft, warm lighting highlights the drink’s vibrant yellow hue, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

With my basic addition: A refreshing Margarita cocktail at the Sea Captain’s House in Myrtle Beach, SC is elegantly presented in a curvy glass, garnished with a lime wedge and a black straw. Soft, warm lighting highlights the drink’s vibrant yellow hue, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

The Margarita at Sea Captain’s House was pretty good.

Then I used the “Content Expander” at WordHero.co, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) service to which I subscribe. I fed in the description with my addition, and this is resulting description that I used with the photograph in my gallery:

“At the Sea Captain’s House in Myrtle Beach, SC, the Margarita cocktail is a delightful treat that promises to refresh your senses. This classic drink is served in an elegantly curvy glass, perfectly designed to enhance the enjoyment of every sip.

A fresh lime wedge perches on the rim, ready to add an extra zing to your cocktail experience. A sleek black straw completes the presentation, inviting you to dive into the vibrant flavors that await.

The drink’s brilliant yellow hue glows warmly under the restaurant’s soft lighting, creating a cozy and inviting ambiance. The atmosphere is perfect for unwinding and enjoying the moment.

Every detail of this Margarita is crafted to bring joy, from its presentation to its refreshing taste. It’s not just a drink; it’s a little piece of happiness in a glass.”
